{"id":2839,"date":"2022-04-06T11:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-04-06T11:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.studionova.website\/east-cambs-conservative-group\/?p=2839"},"modified":"2022-07-25T15:00:37","modified_gmt":"2022-07-25T15:00:37","slug":"east-cambs-budget-boost-for-our-villages-towns-and-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.themepalstudio.co.uk\/eccg\/2022\/04\/06\/east-cambs-budget-boost-for-our-villages-towns-and-city\/","title":{"rendered":"East Cambs Budget Boost for our Villages, Towns and City"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the February budget setting meeting East Cambs District Council:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Announced a \u00a32m Growth &amp; Infrastructure Fund for community facilities and projects \u2013 e.g. nature projects, village halls, open spaces + lots more!<\/li><li>Froze the East Cambs element of Council Tax bills for the ninth year \u2013 I know it\u2019s small money, but we are trying to help<\/li><li>Announced new money for leisure centres and sports facilities<\/li><li>Announced new money for community housing projects \u2013 helping communities that want to build houses reserved for their own people<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is on top of the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) (aka developer funds) already available. Since CIL came in we have:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Spent over \u00a310m on local infrastructure &#8211; e.g. leisure centres, recreation fields, country parks, village halls, GP Surgeries, car parks, youth centres, new roads, and cultural facilities like Ely Museum and the new Viva Mill in Soham<\/li><li>Passported over \u00a33.8m to Parish, Town and City Councils<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The District Council has:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A balanced budget for the next 2 years<\/li><li>\u00a30 external borrowing<\/li><li>Low management costs<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At the February budget setting meeting East Cambs District Council: Announced a \u00a32m Growth &amp; Infrastructure Fund for community facilities and projects \u2013 e.g. nature projects, village halls, open spaces + lots more!
